At Permacon, we understand the dynamics of concrete.

Founded on vast experience gained over a period of more than 40 years in the concrete flooring industry, Permacon offers tried and tested old school products, as well as new products and services.

Our strength lies in our combined technical knowledge and product design.

Whilst still a new brand in the market, Permacon has acquired extensive expertise in analysing the needs and requirements of our customers.

The Permacon strategy is to supply problem-specific, quality products, at competitive rates – manufactured by South Africans for South Africans. 
The floor is arguably the most important part of any building or structure; it is also an integral part of the materials handling system, which means it will be used every day. 
Our technical experts will arrange an on-site inspection and evaluation of the nature and magnitude of the deterioration of your concrete floor hard stand and, where required, we will carry out in situ mechanical tests to verify and validate the diagnostics. 
The data is then assimilated to form the basis of a detailed Technical Report recommending the most cost-effective and innovative solution to extend the life of your concrete floors.

  • FLOOR HARDENERS
    Our dry shake hardeners are blended with mineral, corundum, or metallic and original Portland cement.
    
    The product is used to give a hard wearing course to industrial concrete floors so as to increase the abrasive resistance – or, alternatively, it can be used as a fiber suppressor.
    
    FLOOR HARD 60 HP (High Performance)
    ● Enhanced abrasion resistance (AR2 classification).
    ● Can be applied as dry-shake or slurry for versatility.
    ● Perfect for demanding environments such as abattoirs, power stations, breweries, and desalination plants.
    ● Corundum-Based Hardener. Corundum is recognized as the second hardest material known to man, following the diamond.
    
    FLOOR HARD 60 NM (Natural Quartz Aggregate)
    ● Non-oxidizing quartz aggregate – abrasion-resistant and durable.
    ● Provides a hard and dust-free surface..
    ● Recommended for workshops, bakeries, garages, warehouses, car parks, and laboratories.
    
    FLOOR HARD 80 M (Metallic Aggregate)
    ● Iron-armoured surface with 4–8 x more impact and abrasion resistance than plain concrete.
    ● Withstands oil, grease, fuels, and industrial chemicals.
    ● Ideal for heavy-duty floors: factories, refineries, steel plants, warehouses, ramps, hangars.
    All of our hardeners are available in a standard range of colours.

  • DENSIFIERS
    Liquihard is a opaque solution which penetrates to seal, densify, chemically-harden and dustproof concrete surfaces. Liquihard is odourles, easy to apply and environmentally safe.  
    
    Through Chemical conversions, Liquihard reduces permeability by blocking the micro-pore structure, preventing ingress of deleterious substances. 
    
    As the conversion is pore-related, the surface is film-free and will therefore not alter the colour or texture of the hardened surface significantly
    
    ADVANTAGES 
    ● Easy, one step application. No scrubbing. No flushing. No caustic wastewater.
    ● May be applied to broom finished, steel trowelled, power trowelled or burnished concrete finishes.
    ● Penetrates and reacts quickly to produce better initial and ultimate hardness.
    ● Provides better abrasion resistance than conventional hardeners.
    ● Produces a fast surface gloss which improves with traffic and maintenance.   
    ● Improves performance, appearance and light reflectance of new or old concrete.
    ● Reduces application time and costs of diamond polishing operations.
    ● Will not contribute to surface crazing. High lithium content combats surface ASR. 
    ● Lithium will not absorb water or contribute to floor sweating.
    ● Gloss and hardness do not reduce slip resistance.
    Breathable and UV stable. Will not yellow, discolour, peel or flake.
    ● VOC Compliant. Non-flammable. Non-toxic. Low odour.
    ● Cures quickly. Most floors can be opened to traffic within one hour of treatment.
    ● Treated surfaces are easy to maintain.

  • BONDING LIQUIDS
    Acrylbond is a milky white liquid, produced from Styrene acrylate co-polymer emulsion. 
    
    The latex contains microscopic particles of synthetic rubber, dispersed in an aqueous solution.
    Acrylbond modified mixes may be slightly darker than corresponding unmodified mixes.
    
    Applications 
    ● Concrete repair: Spalled concrete, repairing floors, beams and precast slabs.
    ● Floor screeds and toppings: Abrasion resistant and non dusting floors, underlay for special finishes, mild chemicals and effluent resistant floors.
    ● External rendering: Waterproof, weatherproof and frost resistant render.
    ● Waterproofing and tanking: Basements, lift pits, inspection pits, water towers, liquid tanks, effluent tanks, swimming pools.
    
    Advantages
    Acrylbond modified cement base mixes have the following advantages: 
    ● Earlier hardening and adjustment to elastic modulus. 
    ● Increased tensile strength.
    ● Reduced shrinkage.
    ● Good abrasion resistance.
    ● Reduces bleeding.
    ● Increased durability and toughness.
    ● Resistance to water penetration. 
    ● Good  resistance to chemicals and to mineral oil, frost attack and salt permeation.
    ● Improves bond to steel and concrete. 
    ● Adheres well to most building materials.
    ● Prolonged corrosion protection.
    ● Similar thermal expansion and modulus properties to concrete (unlike resin mortars and primers). 
    ● Non toxic, can be used with potable water.

  • CURING COMPOUNDS
    The retention of water in concrete is essential to ensure adequate strength development and to minimize initial shrinkage crack development.             
    
    Our Cure RB Resin-based Curing Compounds assist in efficient concrete curing by retaining the moisture in fresh concrete – thereby enabling the process of hydration to proceed under optimum conditions.       
    
    Composed of high grade petroleum resin extracts in a solution of quick drying solvents, our Solvent Base Curing gives a high curing efficiency for concrete substrates. 
    
    Finished concrete has a harder, dust-free surface, while hairline cracks are reduced.
    
    Applications
    ●  Acrylcure is an economical method of assisting efficient concrete curing. 
    ● The presence and retention of water is essential to ensure adequate strength development and to minimize initial plastic shrinkage crack development.   
    ● Whilst Acrylcure is effective in improving moisture
    retention, the curing efficiency index is lower than that of conventional resin film forming membranes.  Therefore where high curing efficiency index rates are required, a resin film forming compound should be considered. The selection of the correct curing membrane grade is dependent on specification requirements and on job site conditions. 
    
    Advantages
    ● Economical, single application.
    ● Reduces incidence of shrinkage cracks.
    ● Promotes better strength gain characteristics.
    ● Useful as a dust proofer on floor areas.
    ● No film breakdown period involved.
    ● Does not interfere with subsequent concrete surface treatments (i.e. paints, emulsions, sealants, adhesives, renders, tile adhesives, etc.).

  • DIAMOND DOWELS
    Full sets sold (Male – Female and dowel Plate) or sold individually
    
    Diamond Dowels set consist of 3 parts: -
    Female, male & plate;
    
    Female sleeves and male insert - which is moulded from PVC and the dowel plate which is made from mild steel.
    The configuration of the installed “Diamond Dowel” allows adjacent concrete slabs to move in both directions in the horizontal plane whilst minimising any shear displacement across joints.
    Each sleeve is fitted with an internal spacer to prevent collapse caused by pressure of concrete, but easily displaced into the apex of the sleeve when inserting the “Plate Dowel”
    
    Usage:   3 Dowels per meter.
    
    Uses:
    Diamond Dowels are used in the formation of construction joints on concrete slabs. They allow for movement in both lateral directions whilst still providing maximum shear load transfer across the joint.
    
    Advantages:  Diamond dowel at point of maximum load reduces stress on concrete. - Minimize differential deflection between slabs. - Allow two directional movement in the horizontal plane. - No need to drill forms to support dowels during concrete pour. - Flange on sleeve ensures dowel is perpendicular to shutter and is stable.
    
    Added advantage: This system can be used without the male by using Nails and fixing it directly onto the shutter or stop end

    Conpatch is specially designed for concrete repair work. It is a fine aggregate and binder combination with grading and chemical additives to allow for superior trowelability and finish.
    Can be used in conjunction with Acrylbond.
